Title: GENUINE CABIN AIR FILTERS - FOR A BREATH OF FRESH AIR
Date: Mon, May 5th, 2008 19:19:08 pm

Toyota Australia has eliminated airborne pollution inside its vehicles with a cabin air filter - ensuring a more enjoyable driving experience.

The Toyota Genuine cabin air filter is designed to protect Toyota owners and their families from external pollutants such as dust, pollen and unwelcome airborne particles.

The filter also rids re-circulated air of pollution and odours from internal sources such as the harmful particles in cigarette smoke.

Toyota Australia's customer service division manager Matthew Callachor says Toyota drivers may not realise just how much pollution they potentially breathe inside their vehicles every day.

"When you see a used filter that's filthy and blackened with dirt, dust and other pollutants, the benefit of having a new cabin air filter between you and the air sucked in from the road is clear.

"Drivers and passengers with allergies can enjoy cleaner, fresher air, and when replaced regularly the filtering system will contribute to an ongoing pleasant driving experience for all Toyota owners," said Mr Callachor.

The filter is a standard specification on vehicles built from 2007, with the exception of Yaris. It can be retro-fitted to Yaris and vehicles launched since 2005.*

The cabin air filter sits over the vehicle's air blower behind the glove box, capturing minute particles and cleaning the air as it travels from outside to inside the vehicle.

The clean air then is disbursed through the cabin via the fan or air conditioning unit.

In heavy pollutant areas, the filter can become blocked in as little as 15,000 kilometres.

"Due to the cabin air filter's hidden position, many vehicle owners may not know it exists, and neither may their non-Toyota service outlets," Mr Callachor said.

"At each service, ask your service advisor to check and if necessary replace your cabin air filter to ensure clean and healthy air inside your vehicle.

"Inspection and replacement of the filter is very straight-forward but can make a world of difference to the driving experience for those who drive in dusty or heavy traffic areas.

"So even if you're between services, the ease of replacement means it's worth checking and replacing if there's any sign of dirt or build-up," Mr Callachor said.

Toyota Genuine cabin air filters have been thoroughly researched by Toyota Motor Corporation to fit each Toyota perfectly, ensuring the reliability, quality and durability that has come to be expected from all Toyota Genuine parts.
